There are many reasons to visit Puerto Plata, the birthplace of tourism in the Dominican Republic. Situated between a majestic mountain range and the waters of the Atlantic Ocean, it is the perfect mix of outdoor adventure and cultural history.

Stroll along the beautiful seafront boulevards, visit Puerto Plata city centre, lined with Victorian architecture from the 19th and 20th centuries, explore the same archeological ruins and trails as Christopher Columbus or discover the world’s clearest amber at The Amber Museum.

Puerto Plata’s beaches welcome visitors to the perfect ecological and outdoor adventure paradise. Take a drive to Cabarete, a Caribbean hub for watersports like kitesurfing or visit the regions twenty-seven waterfalls etched out of limestone.
